THE JEWEL, THE SHADOW AND THE HEART
The passionate reactions of people to a painting, the exclamation, 'Oh, this is wonderful,' may, even if meant in a positive way, entirely destroy the chiaroscuro, the mystical hidden weaving of fantasy which the artist needs.

The Jewel
Expressive jewelry has a life of its own.
It is not unusual for it to become a literal part of us, like totemic tattoos: we wear it every day, we wear it when we sleep, we wear it when we shower (albeit that is not the best idea for the durability and looks of precious metals and stones).
Jewels become parts of us.
Our ornaments.
Our quiet companions.
Our shadows.
And a silent means to communicate our moods, tastes, stories and ideas about beauty to the outside world.
If you notice an unconscious fantasy coming up within you, you would be wise not to interpret it at once. Do not say that you know what it is and force it into consciousness. Just let it live with you, leaving it in the half-dark, carry it with you and watch where it is going or what it is driving at.

The Shadow
The shadowy, flexible, sensual silhouettes have emerged from the free-flowing painting by Alisher Kushakow.
I have been following Alisher closely in the recent years, and have seen him evolve and impress: the soft, muted, dreamy colours; the enigmatic, flexible figures, caught in constant, smooth, fluid movement; the expression and emotion of the moment and of the feminine spirit.
Creativity sometimes needs the protection of darkness, of being ignored. That is very obvious in the natural tendency many artists and writers have not to show their paintings or writings before they are finished.

The Heart
And then there is the Heart.
The dress by Schiaparelli Haute Couture, designed by Daniel Roseberry: asymmetrical half-corset in red silk, attached to a maxi skirt in red velvet, with a centrepiece – a moulded breastplate, holding a red lacquered anatomical pendant, adorned with rhinestones, sitting sensually and provocatively on the left breast, just where the beating, loving, hurting, rebellious and compassionate heart is.
