OLE LYNGGAARD COPENHAGEN: A TALE OF LEGACY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE INTERPLAY OF FAMILY AND ARTISTRY IN CREATION

Family is a life jacket in the stormy sea of life.

J.K. Rowling

In the vibrant hub of Copenhagen, a tale began in 1963. Ole Lynggaard, a visionary with a dream to meld metals with nature, established a modest workshop. While he had some foundation from his parents' jewelry stores, Ole yearned for more than tradition: he wanted to create art.

So he packed his bags and went on a five-year journey that would shape the brand's legacy. The romantic ateliers of Paris, the jewelry epicenter of Schwäbisch Gmünd in Germany, the rhythmic workshops of New York, the timeless streets of Egypt, the colorful markets of Thailand: everywhere he went, he absorbed inspiration, scribbling designs and gathering stories.

When Lynggaard returned to Denmark, waiting for him was the ever-glowing Karin, his future wife and muse. Together, they breathed life into his travel sketches and thus was born Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. Each crafted with 18 karat gold, rare gemstones, and top-grade diamonds, their creations weren't just jewelry, they were pieces of their soul, tales of their travels, and a tribute to nature’s wonders.

My father is an amazing designer and living proof that there is no expiration date on true creativity.

Then, the torch was passed to their daughter, Charlotte. Equipped as a skilled goldsmith, Charlotte had an edge in fine jewellery design. She held a deep understanding of every precious material, knowing its response, its synergy with other elements, the extent of its malleability. Her belief was firm: "Perfection takes time". With the zeal of a perfectionist, she exercised patience, never settling, always striving. Some designs, she knew, would take years to realize. But for Charlotte it wasn't about time; rather it was about the pursuit of unmatched excellence.

At a family-run brand, everyone must help out in any way they can.

Today, Charlotte's brother, Søren, after diverse experiences from sheep farms in Australia to esteemed business schools, steers the brand as the CEO. Under his leadership and Charlotte's unmatched creativity, the brand soared, establishing flagship stores in coveted locales: Copenhagen, Stockholm, Munich, Paris, and Sydney.

Today, the brand is the embodiment of passion, dedication, and craftsmanship, powered by a team 160-strong, all absorbing and nurturing the family's ethos. Every creation is a tale, a legacy, and a testament to the journey of a family's heart and soul.

If you deconstruct Greece, you will in the end see an olive tree, a grapevine, and a boat remain. That is, with as much, you reconstruct her.

Odysseas Elytis

Among the masterpieces of Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is this fantastic version of the olive tree. Exquisite, delicate and intuitive, they are emblematic of the brand's craftsmanship and creativity.

While we glimpsed olive branches, Charlotte envisioned frost-kissed leaves. The Winter Frost ear clips from the Winter Frost Collection are a spellbinding dance of 18 karat white gold, graced by 416 meticulously hand-set diamonds.
